In this blog, we talk about the latest visuals released by Indy's very own "Baby Ebony"

Baby...who?
Well, if you haven't already heard of Baby Ebony over the past year...I guess you're like a neanderthal or something. A native Indy artist who hails from the West 2600 block. His previous outings had included a skew of simmering singles and a 6 track project labeled "Euphoria".
The most critically beloved song, in our opinion, is the one he most recently released visuals too. The project titled, "Euphoria" is a 3 minute tale where Ebony goes into the conflicts of his past. Struggling with self-love and conflicts between hisself and what he knows best.
"I was always high at Herron High/I could barely keep my eyes open to do a test." In Euphoria he talks about his stint with non-prescribed pills, his scars from being in a home flickered with domestic violence, his fights with his inner demons and simply things that have created the man he is now.
Thoughts On The Visuals
A lot of different art comes from within Indianapolis, some I prefer over others. I see so much imagery and meaning in this video, it drives me insane NOT to mention it. The way he drives drunk, distorted, and recklessly is a sign of where his life once was. His mind being the wheel, his train of thought never really being controlled or steered.
"I aint do this shit 'cause I thought it was cool/It was either that or grab the gat..(wooh)"
He states that the life he lives, making music, isn't by choice but by fate. Without the music, it's suicide for him and he means it when he says it. He goes onto to mention how he wasn't yet comprehensive of "..true meaning of life or death"..which is somewhat scary. How he proposes this idea of a being young and so blinded to the positive that he can't even find meaning or an actually will to live.
Along with that, his signs of being under an influence too strong to overcome makes viewers apprehensive. A huge part of that is the filming of Elevator who captured the essence of what a broken man can become. Ebony gives us a clear sentiment of the powers of succumbing to life's hardships; how it can repay us the ultimate price: DEATH. Euphoria is a state of being within a place that's worry free. He is captured as being in a dysphoria where all is bad.
"Remember when we cried/remember when we tried/when we had to rely/on eachother but, fuck it/I remember being broke, I had to shorten my budget/didn't understand the type of man that I was becoming"
Honestly one of the strongest messages I've seen in recent times be so richly portrayed. A perfect ratio of image to sound, and I'm proud of him for being independent and faithful in this video. It's an approach that most don't take. He knows that his growth is in the forefront of everything when he says he didn't "understand the type of man that (he) was becoming".
And along with this release I'm simply just more enthused by his artwork. As well as how professionally he has established his brand and how he has made it an immediate initiative to be real with not only hisself, but his fans as well. I honestly can't help but to fein for more. More singles, more projects and most importantly..MORE VISUALS.
