Today we have a short talk with a member of the collective "Moto Pack" following up their most recent release that sparked interest from the OSD Family.

Who is "Ap" ?
(Link to their latest work )HERE
K: Do you guys produce all your own stuff, and who's all in 'Moto Pack' ?
Ap: It’s all original work, engineering, production, songwriting, cover arts etc. & our producer is my friend Travis, and the rest are rappers.
K: So, we know of Moto Pack but have yet to know who YOU are individually.
A: "I'm Ap, App or Austin. I do photography and shit as well as music."
K: You been making music for a long time?
A: "2 years. We made music consistently for a good 6 months and then inconsistently for about a year. Ever since then we've been consistent with it and dropped [Time Trials]"
K: What got you into creating music?

A: It kinda just happened. One day we just made the group and it was just like a "fuck it, we making music". It was always an important role to who I am, so it wasn't even really that big of deal when it happened.
K: What are some of your inspirations as an artist?
A: Really a lot of bands. [Rappers] are too corny for me. But Radiohead, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The Beach Boys etc. I want our group to have the same cultural impact they had.
"[Rappers] are too corny for me"
K: What's your opinion on where music is nowadays?
A: I don't like that shit. Shit mindless as hell.
"..Something that makes you question music entirely"
K: Elaborate..
A: I'm insanely passionate about music and understanding that something like music may seem subjective. But there's a thin line between creativity, talent and b.s. I only like to listen to music that carries a lot of passion. Something that's unique something that makes you question music entirely. That's not to say that simple music like "trap" can't do it. It's just that the social norm of music is way too shallow for me to ever like it. Like everything is so predictable now.
K: What's your ultimate goal in music?

A: The ultimate goal for me is to just create the best work I can. I don't really care about a lot of other shit rappers care about. I wan't my musical talents to give me a better life. I also want to go down in history and have our group leave behind a legacy.
"I wan't my musical talents to give me a better life"
K: An alternative of any sort? If not hip-hop..then what's secondary?
A: If not hip hop, just creative direction
K: As a closing sentiment, what do listeners hear when they view your work? What is the substance within it?
A: The substance is really just the idea of us being young niggas with nothing more than a vision. Like from the mixing of our music to conceptualization of our projects.
I felt a tone of strength and potential in Austin way before I heard his music and just from speaking to him in short conversation. The conversation of meaning and passion between the margins of writing and constructing music is great to have, especially with another artist. I can't wait to see what's next to come from him and Moto Pack!
